Birthday Wishes

A good friend has an 80th birthday today.  As he has done seven times before, he is leading the way into a new decade.  He checks out the place for a month or so and then I join him.  Sometimes I draw a special card.  This year I drew a sports card - both to recall our baseball past and also acknowledge that he is one of the world's greatest Yankee fans.

Man gets the Remote

Some couples fight over the remote.  Is it a power or control thing ?  No problem with Tassel and Ms. T.  She gladly gives him the remote.  She has a satellite dish and knows the numbers and he doesn't even know how to operate her remote.

How shall we react ?

Whenever we go away and return, different cats have treated us differently.  Sam and Babe are quite loving and seem glad to see me.  Perhaps they are expecting a treat.  It's not always that way which prompted this cartoon

Happy Valentine's Day

Two Cats and a Dog

Will post two cartoons today and then take a break as I go to the Valley for Valentine's Day and the weekend.   Receiving a call in the tub the other night prompted one cartoon and, as you can see, Sam and Babe were diligently on guard duty; in the other, MacKenzie worries about her special blanket. Leaving it exposed as she goes for food might make it disappear.

Clothesline Cartoon

The contrast between where we were and where we are continues to produce cartoons.  That's a way to cope with the weather Nova Scotia has thrown at me in revenge for treating myself to two weeks of sunshine and warmth.  Anyway, the sun is out today and it's somewhat warmer.

The Good Life - for awhile

I once took an aegean cruise.  It was beautiful and we did nothing but admire whereever we went.  Yet everyone was eager for meal.  similarly, while we were in Mexico, although we did next to nothing, sunning ourselves on the beach or by the pool, we looked forward to dinner and ate great meals.  This seemed worthy of comment in a cartoon.

The kitties help ...

Nova Scotia knows how to punish a fellow who's been to Mexico.  Two storms since we returned.  Sam and Babe try to help keep Tassel warm.

Mexican Memories will probably keep producing cartoons for a little while, the cats are demanding more blog time.

Inflation

With the penny gone, how will we be able to give people our "two-cents worth" ?  If we round it off, it will be worth nothing and not worth giving.  Guess we'll have to eoither give or receive a nickle or five-cents worth of advice.  That's inflation!

Return to Reality

Returned at 6:00 am. to light, swirling snow.  Having left Mexico in the noon-day heat of February 2nd, then enduring an overnight flight from Calgary, it was a shock to the system to find what was waiting for us, but also exciting to be back home and reunited with our pets and neighbours.
